Amazing.....

Good Morning,

I was driving into work this morning and I realized how important it is to value ourselves and always look at the brighter side of things! We so often focus on the negative and never shed light on the small things that are happening that are still great!

For example, I went on an amazing date #2 last night with a new guy and its been going super! SO instead of focusing on the annoying things that have happened this week that can hold me down and not allow me to grow and be happy. I am focusing on the great interaction that I have been having with my "new friend" and hopefully building upon that.

He seems super sweet and invested into finding out more about me so I am very excited as well to see how that sets out to be. :)

Always focus on the good things and greater things will follow!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!!!

Racism and Friends.. What's acceptable???

Hello:

So this weekend I for the first time experienced 100% pure racism directed from a person in my life that I have more expectations from.  I was out and a friend used the "N" word towards me and a friend that was very nasty and hurtful.  She said it with so much hate in her heart that it was very disgusting. I am no longer friends with this person because that is something that I cant accept in my life.  People like that deserve to be left alone and to learn how to work through their issues.

Our society has come so far and yet its 2014 and we are so behind on what it means to not be racist and make ignorant comments like the way that this person did. When this happened I stood there and was so shocked that it took me a minute to register and I just walked away and left.  Having so much hate inside is sad for anyone to walk around with.

I think a lot of this stems from having low self-esteem and not having a good understanding of who we are and what our purpose and direction is. Not being self aware is a one of the worst things that can possibly happen.  This whole experience has shocked me so much that I thought I would put it out there and see if anyone else has experienced such hatred?  This is so far off beauty and fashion but its an important topic and I think its one that we often look over as if its not relevant anymore but it really is. I think that its just hidden well and we don't recognize it as hate and racism.

Being a Muslim women in America, I know that there is hate and racism still out there - and I understand that people have not evolved as much as we would have liked them too.  I think that it came from someone so close to me that was the shocking factor and the deal breaker in the friendship.  We have to learn to grow at all times and we have to surround ourselves with people that will encourage us to grow and get better as well.  IF we only surround ourselves with people that hold us down and don't allow our minds to grow then we are truly to blame as well.  We have to make sure that we are self-aware of what is going on around us!

Hope you take something away from this and helps you to handle a situation like this positively.

Martin Luther King Jr. So wise! I really need to apply this right about now!!!

31/Middle Eastern/ Muslim/ Smart/Pretty...... Why are you single?

Good Morning!

I wanted to share my thoughts on being single as this has been something that has been on my mind! I am not 100% sure I have a full understanding of what is the reason but from talking to people and reading articles and just being me I have realized that it has nothing to do with me, however, it does! I think this goes back to something I learned a long time ago about timing.  When its your time you will die, you will finish school, you will get married!! Everything has a place and a time and nothing can be done out of order. I think that as we go through life we expect things to just happen but when they don't we freak out!

I can speak for myself in saying that I do that- its very hard for me to wait and understand that something is coming and that something can be amazing! I once had this mentor and she told me that I had to keep going on my path and then I would meet this person. IF I stopped and waited for him in life I would miss him.  Continuing to better myself is how I have learned that I will match with the person I should be with. That is a challenge and not the easiest task at hand.....

I have to continuously check myself and understand that its a learning curve and goals must be set for better things to come in life.  I know it seems like I am 31- Muslim - Pretty Girl- Educated - Good Job etc... how can I still be single? TIME!!!!!! its all about time and what that means in relation to where I am in my life. There must be some obstacles that I have to accomplish or get over that will then place me in a better situation for meeting that right person.

Easy to preach about what needs to be done rather than just doing it but - I know that at this age I really need to kick things into full force and take my life under control and move towards what is best for me. And when things in your life improve in all areas that will attract different people to enter your life. And that also means that sometimes some people need to exit your life also - and that is just what happens as we grow up.

I have looked into some books that I would like to read while I am still on summer vacation from school and they are cute relationship fiction novels and non fiction novels.... I will past the books below for you.  Also I have linked some websites with helpful information on "being single" for some research!!

Have a great day!!!

Ramadan Mubarak!

Hello!

So Ramadan has begun and its going smooth so far. Its day 3 and I think for the most part I think its mostly mental but however it does have a lot to do with the energy levels that you have.  Its hard to keep pushing and pushing when you're feeling drained! I feel that the eating part is not hard once you have done it a couple days but its the energy level that comes down and you suffer at work.  Fasting isn't hard when you are at home and can relax and sleep most of the day off.

You also have to keep in mind that you are making an effort to refrain from foul language, gossip and bad behavior.  That is probably much harder than the not eating part of the fast.  I have noticed myself cursing and using bad words when I know better and this can really be a good lesson for the whole year when trying to kick a bad habit.  I mean if you can refrain from it for 30 days then you can really refrain from it forever.

This month is really a great time to learn more about yourself and plan for the upcoming year.  How can I improve and how can I change the mistakes that I made from last year.  What can I do differently so that my sins are less and my good deeds are more.  Connecting with god and making that bond stronger (no matter what religion you are) and deeper.  I know that Allah is forgiving and if one has really hurt and upset and is asking for forgiveness then that person will be granted their dua's and be forgiven.  But you have to be real about it and change.

I recently started following this tumblr of all stuff Islamic related and I wanted to share a couple of the postings that I enjoyed. Hope ya'll do too~

"And know that victory comes with patience and that relief comes with hardship.”
— Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
Allah knows the struggle against my nafs and I have never felt more in need of Ramadan than this year. May Allah give us strength and relief to overcome our hardships and allow us to continue steadfast on the deen for when the month is over.
May this beautiful month heal our broken hearts and blackened souls and be a turning point for the better.
Please forgive me if I have ever caused any of you any harm or disrespect whether it be knowingly or unknowingly. I am sincerely sorry and I love you all for the sake of Allah.
Ramadan Mubarak 😊✌keep the Ummah in your duas and stay blessed!

Wedding Fun...

Hii!!!!!

Well I went to a wedding yet again! And it was fun....  It was in Merced CA and it was in the middle of nowhere!

My Co-Worker and really good friend Ryan got married and so we all took the trip out there to celebrate his wedding! I don't think I will ever turn down an opportunity for a wedding! They are definitely fun and exciting to be at and makes you think of all the ideas for your big day!

For me it always makes me think of what I want and what I will look like on that day- and more importantly who I will be walking down the isle to... ugh ! what an exciting thought but a frustrating one as well.... I recently turned 31 and I think its been on my mind more and more as the days have gone by BUT I am a firm believer of  timing and the right person. So with that said I know that he is out there and will show up but its about time.... LOL I am so waiting on him to arrive-

I have posted some pictures from the wedding below.. You know me and selfies I am all about them! And I was hoping to make the bride and groom an album for their memories of the wedding.

I hope to keep the blog going and get more people to join in... spread the word yo! Join! Join! Join!

Enjoy the pics and until next time

Power of Prayer

Hello.. Hello...

I have to get better at keeping up with this blog! I do apologize for that! I have been so busy with life and school and work that I have not had time to write! Even though in reality I have so much to write about!!!!

Today I really want to focus on the power of prayer and what it means to actually sit down and pray and speak to your god - whichever religion you follow. I am Muslim and so I pray to Allah.  I recently have been dealing with a lot of stress and fear in my life.  I work with people that are not the most of the positive folks around and it has become extremely difficult at times to understand the reasons as to why they do the things that they do. This is also the month of Ramadan and that is one of my favorite times of the year and I thoroughly enjoy fasting and being close to Allah.  It is hard and its a struggle to get through the day and remain positive but its a great challenge.  And I feel so much stronger coming out of that month. I feel fresh on a daily basis because I am praying and I have a closer connection to Allah.

So I have tried to turn my anger and disappointment and resentment towards the people that are affecting me on a daily basis into a passion and drive to pray and get better for myself.  I really have made a pact to myself to improve FATI... Improve ME!  The people around me are flawed and yes I know that.  But what good does it do me to continue to speak on that instead of speaking the words of Allah and move on with my life and do something that will increase my prosperity and make me a better person.  This is a very hard thing to do when you are truly upset and hurt. I know because I have felt it in the last couple months!!! But last night I realized that the angrier I get, the more power these people have in how I live my life- and I want to live for me and only me.

I made a choice last night to go home - relax and then get up and do my Namaz (prayers) and feel good about myself and what I bring to the table. I am leaving all of my concerns and issues in Allah's hands! I know that through the power of Dua (prayer) that Allah will listen to my heart and see the effort and the overall picture and help me to become better and assist me.  Allah or your God will never leave you stranded when you speak from your heart and are open.

I have started a pinterest board about dua's and I have pasted a couple of the dua's and quotes I enjoy and help me throughout the day to remain calm and not allow negative people to latch on to MY DAY and make it a bad one!

Hope you all can take something away from this and feel that whatever you're going too is never too big or two small to pray and talk to God - whoever your god being....GOD LISTENS!!!!

Rainy Day Thoughts and randoms....

Good Morning,

This has been a very random week... It has been such a such an emotional roller coaster of junk!  But that's ok because that is how life is. It's never the same each day and its never simple.  Trying to become a more positive thinker and that takes time BUT once you have mastered it then you are good to go!!!

Today is rainy and its the first site of rain we have had for the whole year.  I love the rain and totally think we need it but its also very hard to drive in the rain due to California people not understanding how to relax and drive.

This weekend will be a bit stressful as I have family coming in and have to drive them around but it will all be OK- I have noticed that sometimes the anxiety these things are just more anticipation instead and you have to let it be.  I think Sunday will be a relax at home and do Homework kind of day.  Not planning on leaving the house at all.

Anyway on to better and more exciting things... This weather made me interested in Burberry rain boots. I looked them up and they are not that expensive!!!! I mean I thought they would be super pricey but they are about $300 but for shoes I think that's far and if you get them off season perhaps they will be on sale.  I think that they are a staple peace of clothing in your collection/ closet and it will never go out of style or use. I think yes in CA/LA we don't need that for everyday use but its a cute item that when you travel or for cold days to wear! So I will link the ones that I thought were super cute under here for ya'll to check out.

Hope you all stay dry! and have a wonderful day!!!!
